i went 15 months straight, dropping projects every month, from january 2014 to march 2015. then i helped Rufio Jones release his 2nd project "Rufio Jones' Loot Suit". then i kinda went dark.

but only because MY FIRST SOLO VINYL & FIRST SOLO CASSETTE were on the horizon in the form of the newly relased project, "Worth The Wait" (AND YOU CAN ORDER IT HERE www.fatbeats.com/collections/illingsworth-worth-the-wait/products/illingsworth-worth-the-wait-lp), on House Shoes' Street Corner Music imprint, which is distributed by Fat Beats.

even though i was only in the shadows for a few months, it felt a little agonizing. don't get me wrong, i've been working. it just didn't feel great to not be sharing the labors.

but i knew, sooner or later i'd be here, sharing with you again. i really enjoy sharing the efforts. i also wanted to present something that was pretty different than "Worth The Wait" (click that link up there and get that damn vinyl. SERIOUSLY GET IT OR THEY'RE GONNA BREAK MY LEGS. ok, nobody's probably gonna do that but, whatever.)

this project is a short collection of sample-free selections. each song was created in ableton. i chose to do these original joints in ableton because the majority of my sample-based music is created primarily in sony acid pro 7. switching programs allowed me to take a slightly different approach than usual. i used a lot of vsts. i also used the Novation Mininova, and the microKorg. also used my lizard-brain.

this isn't me changing up my whole style and abandoning the samples. i just wanted to share a different style for a sec, and put something into the universe. you knew i was gonna do it, sooner or later.
